Mock Meet/Time Trials
Hello Manta Rays!
The season is underway! Although it may feel early, the time will pass quickly.
This year, we are offering a shortened version of a mock meet, also known as Time Trials. Only the younger age groups, newly registered swimmers without established times, and their parents will participate.
Our goal is to ensure the mock meet is efficient and beneficial. It is designed to help new and younger swimmers understand how a swim meet operates, including checking in, starting a race with a starter, and the staging process. It is also an opportunity for newer parents to gain insight into meet procedures and to practice various volunteer roles.
Attached is the heat sheet detailing the events for the swimmers, as well as a document outlining volunteer assignments. Both swimmers and volunteers are required to check in upon arrival. This process ensures we know who to expect and who not look for. Swimmers will have their arms marked, and volunteers will receive name badges.
Parking will be available along the street. Please observe the posted parking signs to determine authorized parking areas. Vehicles should only be parked on one side of the street to ensure adequate space for emergency vehicles. Kindly avoid blocking driveways or parking along corner curbs. The Suwanee Police Department may respond to complaints regarding improper parking.
Parents are allowed to come onto the deck with their belongings. Please remember that this is a practice and working meet, so it is important to limit spectators, as everyone will be engaged in different roles and activities. Please feel free to bring food and water for you and your swimmers! Concessions will NOT be available.
BULLPEN is an important practice area where we want to help swimmers understand expectations. Swimmers are welcome to bring towels, blankets, or chairs for seating, as well as food and drinks. Please note that if a swimmer is not in the bullpen and misses their lineup, they will forfeit their opportunity to swim, as their event will not be rescheduled. This time provides an opportunity to learn and practice the importance of being present and prepared in the designated area.
Time trials are not expected to go long. We are estimating a couple of hours from start time. We are not doing halves for jobs. Instead we are allowing everyone to get some practice time in.
Please take a look at the attached documents and be ready to be AT CHECK-IN @ 5:30pm on Thursday!
SEE YA POOLSIDE!
