Swimmer Events and Heat Sheet Attached. Remember, we will NOT be selling these at concessions. Please print at home. Any family sponsors can pick up your named copy at the concession stand. Heat sheets will be provided to volunteers who need them for jobs.
Parking - All parking will be done along the street, sides designated by signs. DO NOT park on non designated sides, block driveways or hydrants. Emergency vehicles MUST be able to fit down, and turn around in, the streets. The only people who are to park in the parking lot are those who we have already communicated with. We reserve spots for people coming in with supplies. We also reserve 3 spots for the visiting team. The parking attendant will have a list and be directing cars, so please do not come down the driveway anticipating to stay. If you would like to do a drop off, this MUST be done prior to 5pm AND be at the discretion of the parking attendant.
Bullpen - Our swimmer bullpen will be near the red bench staging area outside the front gate and will be marked. Please have your swimmers stay in this area. Parents, our team will be setting up in the parking lot as we did last year. We do want to keep everyone towards the top end of the parking lot, and we will keep any cars towards the bottom (tennis court end) of the lot. The space for the Kona Ice truck will also be marked.
We will NOT set up spectator chairs on the deck for our team. We will be keeping the pavilion side of the deck open for you and anyone to walk on and off as you please. This will help traffic flow and the merging of swimmers to the staging area.
VISITORS AREA - we are placing the visiting team in our old bullpen area on the grass (near baby pool) and directing their parents to sit on the far side of the deck. Again, we are trying this new method out with a visiting team to see how it goes. With the size of our team we had to rework this a bit.
MAPLE RIDGE - feel free to put a chair out on the visitor side if you have someone who needs it, or if you would like one for your family. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT place these until AFTER our visitors arrive . We want to be good hosts and have this space for them. Maple Ridge Bullpen will still be in the parking lot.
GATES - We are wanting to encourage everyone who is NOT a swimmer or volunteer to use the pavilion gate as much as possible. This way we are not bottlenecking the front gate where our swimmers are entering and staging, therefore not causing delays.
Meet Theme - This week will be a
PINK OUT in honor of all those in the past and present fighting breast cancer. Wear your pink! We have a pink cap for each swimmer. They will receive one when they check in!
Concessions - Families with the last names beginning with H -R* , please remember to bring your baked goods; bought or homemade is fine! Just a dozen is good. Kona Ice will be back! 25% of all sales made at the meet will come back to the team as a fundraiser! Make sure you support the team in this yummy way! *unless you were spoken to about a case of water.
INCLEMENT WEATHER - be sure you are on REMIND for quick communication.
Fun Friday - Swimmers are invited to join us (minis included) at the Maple Ridge pool Friday morning after the meet, between 9:30 - 11am for fun swim and LOTS of doughnuts. We will also be recognizing our swimmer of the week. All non maple ridge members will need to exit the pool at 11am and the gate will be closed, as the pool will open to members.
SPECIAL NOTE - As meet hosts, this is our team's opportunity to shine! Let's bring our best sportsmanship, patience and attitude (swimmers AND parents). When an opportunity presents itself, give more than 100% to help out (either side). Please remember safety as you move your cars about the area, and in and out of the neighborhood. Please remember to respect the neighbors of Maple Ridge (and their driveways). And also, BRING BUG SPRAY!
