Coach's Message
Please see the below message from Coach Catherine:
Hello All,
It is with much sadness that I am writing to state that I will not be returning as Head Coach of Maple Ridge this summer. As I grow older and my children grow older, time is flying by, and I feel I need to take a step back and focus on my family. With Haley now in college and Hannah heading to high school, my family time with them is limited. I want to make the most of it while I can, and to say the least, scheduling is becoming much more difficult. The last thing I want is for the team to suffer because of additional demands/commitments I have. Your swimmer(s) deserves the best because Maple Ridge is the best!
I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching Maple Ridge and will always cherish the memories. Maple Ridge has been my summer family for the past five years. Watching your children grow in the sport as well as grow into amazing human beings has brought me much happiness over the years. I have also enjoyed the friendships I have made with you all (the parents). I hope these friendships will continue as I will always be vested in your swimmer and their accomplishments. I love Maple Ridge with all my heart and hope that you understand the decision that I had to make. Please tell your swimmer(s) that I love them and always will be here for anything they need.
I Love You All,
Coach Catherine
Hello Swim Families,
The Manta Rays are definitely sad to lose Coach Catherine, but we understand and respect her decision. We have been very fortunate to have Catherine as our coach for these past 5 seasons. She has brought so much to our team. It has been a priviledge to see our swimmers get built up under her coaching, watch their confidence and skill grow, and truly enjoy their swim time. Catherine, you have poured so much energy, detail and love into our team. We always could feel how much you loved us and loved what you were doing. That is truly a gift for which we are grateful.
We wish her all the best and definitely look forward to some poolside visits this season :)
