Meet #4 Maple Ridge vs. Berkshire
Hello Swim Families!
Here is info for our FINAL MEET!
Meet #4 - Thursday, June 24th
Maple Ridge VS Berkshire
Set up - 4:15pm. Only set up volunteers should arrive at this time.
10 and under swimmers - Check in @ 4:45, warm up @ 5pm
11 and up swimmers - Check in @ 5pm, warm up @5:30.
Volunteers MUST also check in. Please do this when you bring your swimmer to check in.
Event Entries Check your swimmer's event numbers and mark arms before arrival. Ex. Name, age / #3 #5 #7, etc. Our check-in volunteers will have the list and sharpies ready to mark for those who need assistance or may have forgotten. Don't forget to pick up a heat sheet when you check in.
Meet Starts at 6pm. Swimmers must come ready for the water.
Theme - RED, WHITE and BLUE As we round out the last meet with the 4th of July in our sights, let's celebrate with a good old fashioned cookout!
Parking Lot - There will be no parking in the parking lot this season; with the exception of a couple of coach's cars and others needing to bring equipment. The parking lot will serve as one big family bullpen. Parents and swimmers can sit with each other. Be sure to bring chairs, extra towels to sit on, canopies, shade, etc. Canopies must be weighed down somehow. If any wind picks up these can go flying and hurt those nearby. Swimmer and parents must be paying attention to the event numbers and listening out for their turn to line up!
Parking - Parking will be on the street only. Cars may ONLY park on the designated sides of the street. There will be signs showing you which side you can park on. This is extremely important as emergency vehicles MUST be able to get through the streets and not be blocked; also to leave fire hydrants accessible. In order to keep ALL swimmers safe, we will not be doing drop offs in the parking lot.
REMIND! Be sure you are signed up for REMIND. This will be the only way we can reach everyone to communicate any info during a meet. You can go to https://www.remind.com/join/mrswim21 from your computer. OR, text @mrswim21 to 81010.
Weather - In the event of bad weather, thunder/lightning, we will communicate with you via REMIND with directions. Plan to make your way to your cars (any car) for safety while we wait it out in the hopes that it will pass quickly. We do swim in the rain!
Concessions - There will be no pizza orders this week. Hamburgers and hotdogs and sides and goodies/treats will be sold!
Volunteer Assignments - Attachment will take you to volunteer assignments. Volunteer positions are assigned for meets. We do our best to make these work for each family. Volunteer assignments are for either 1st Half or 2nd Half, unless otherwise mentioned. I.e set up, clean up, etc. This means if your swimmer is done with their events, but the first or second half is not yet complete, you may not leave. We will announce when it is time to change from first half volunteers to second half volunteers. This will be at event 36.
Are you a volunteer with a swimmer 8 years and under? We want to provide a safe option for your swimmer that gives you peace of mind while you are volunteering. We will be opening up the grass area near the baby pool for swimmers who are ages 8 years and under. This will ONLY be for swimmers whose parent(s) is on the deck in a volunteer position. If this is something you would like to do, please either email and let us know, or find April Okeson at the meet.
Parent Spectators - We will be allowing groups of parents to come on the deck to watch your swimmer! This will be standing room only. Please do not bring chairs on the deck. You will only be there a few minutes. Spectators will need to spread out on both sides of the deck in the marked, designated areas. Masks are not required for spectators in these areas. When your swimmer is done with their swim, they may join you until it is time for you to exit the deck, and the next group will come in.
Patience, Grace and Good Sportsmanship...last but not least, we ask that ALL of our parents and swimmers come to the meet with a positive attitude, ready to have a good time and show good sportsmanship. We know there have been a lot of changes this season, and not all have been easy to adapt to. We appreciate all the smiles we've seen, and helpful and kind parents we've met. Parents, your swimmers will take their cues from you. Let's help them be the best and kindest they can be to their fellow athletes. We are ALL volunteers doing the best we can with what we have to work with, along with a common goal: providing a safe and fun summer swim experience for our kids. It will get hot and it will get long, but we can do this together!
GO MANTA RAYS!
See You Poolside!
