Hello Swim Families,

Important Info below from us and our host team for this week's, meet #4! 

When: Thursday 6/20

We are swimming Apalachee Aquatics: 2608 Bent Tree Dr. Dacula, GA 30019 (FYI, there are no starting blocks at this pool)

Arrival: Arrive and check in by 5pm. Maple Ridge warm-ups are 5:30. Check in will be in the bullpen. Swimmers and volunteers must check in! CHECK IN WORKERS-Please be on time and allow time to find the bullpen and get set up. 

Parking: Pool has a parking lot

2 Slots will be open for auction available to all families for no fuss and up close parking

§Starting bid is $20

§Deadline: Noon on the day of the meet

Overflow Parking:

§The Apalachee Farms Clubview neighborhood that connects to our parking lot

§The Apalachee Trophy Club (golf course) across the street

Parking is only permitted on one side of the street and it will be marked accordingly

Note: Cars parked on the wrong side will be towed.

Bullpen PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFO: For those of you who have been to this pool before, our bullpen will be different due to Apalachee's pavilion having had renovation done. Our team area will be down a ramp sidewalk at the bottom of the water slide. The water areas will be blocked off by chairs. There is only one way in and out, and that is the ramp to the pool deck. Again, this will be a situation when you will not be able to see the bullpen from the pool deck. Children MUST stay in our team area. PLEASE DO NOT block the ramp for any reason, this is where we will be lining up swimmers to be staged. This is a very large pool area and we need to have swimmers running around as little as possible. Parents CANNOT stand at the top of the ramp. This is the starting end of the pool and it is very crowded. How to get to the bullpen? When you enter the front gate of the pool, you will walk all the way down to the other side. When you see the water slide, head down the sidewalk right next to it. Bullpen Volunteers: You must keep all swimmers in the bullpen area unless they are lining up and heading to their event. 

Spectators: Maple Ridge side is closest to the building. This will be right next to concessions and bathroom access! 

Inclement Weather: In case of bad weather we ask swimmers/parents to head to their cars and wait for a Remind message with further instruction. In the event we cannot finish the meet, the make-up will be TUESDAY, 6/25. 

Don't Forget: Goggles, Swim cap (extra caps and goggles), Towels (for drying and sitting), sunscreen, bug spray, non-electronic entertainment for the bullpen, healthy snacks, chairs for parents, cash for concessions

A few Notes: 

The weather is looking a little rough this week. Let's see if we can make the rain stay away again by being really prepared! Bring extra towels, clothes for swimmers to change into, umbrellas, ponchos. April will have a bag of ponchos on hand for our deck workers. We will also be setting up canopies in the bullpen for rain or shine. If you have not already, please sign up for remind! This will be our form of communication if we have a weather delay.

Ribbons and computer volunteers, please find April or Katrina after you have checked in so we can be sure you know where to go!

Staging Volunteers and Bullpen Runners: There won't be bullpen "running" as much as just getting them up the sidewalk to the staging volunteers at the top. There will be staging benches for our swimmers just outside bullpen exit point. Swimmers of both teams will then merge at the chairs behind the starts. Runners, you can have swimmers line up along the sidewalk as well to keep the flow moving.
